US 40 machining of weld joint on 10 mm depth

Case study 

Flange diameters : ¾“ – 1“- 2“- 3“-4“

Job description : The quality of the weld joint was not in conformity with the norms. The weld joint was machined on a 10 mm depth with the help of a US 40 fitted with specific tool bits.

Difficulty : Centering of the machine against the flange. Up to 1 mm displacement of the id diameter of the tube in which the machine had to be clamped.

Result achieved : +/- 0,2mm.

Tools used to mesure the results : micrometer
